Stu & the Scab

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Here I am with my famed framed friend the Scab! I decided to frame it as I got it off in one crunchy piece.

In other (less disgusting) news; My ears are now at 50mm and I have a nice pair of 2″ silicone tunnels for them (I’m wearing cut up easytattoo aftercare lids in the pic) from Kaos. I had session three of the left sleeve last week and am booked in for a couple more hours this week.

Scrubbers!

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

I’ve been irritating (for many a year :-) ) my leg with varoius items, now that the branding on my leg is nicely settled. But which is the best one for the purpose? The toothbrush, nailbrush, buff puff, scouring pad? There’s only one way to find out. . .  FIIIIGHT!

Which is best for scrubbing a branding???

Which is best for scrubbing a branding???

Here’s the results:

  • Toothbrush – Not very good – 1/10
  • Nailbrush – Better than the toothbrush – 3/10
  • Buff puff – Silly name, but good 6/10
  • Green scouring pad – Nice 9/10
  • Brillo pad??? I’ve not tried that yet :-)

I took this picture after scrubbing out with some exfoliating wash and a green scouring pad – it’s not as bad as it sounds, honest! :)

Removing the Scab

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Has to be one of the most satisfying experiences of any body mod’ – The brand scab was a pleasure to remove – it peeled off like a post it note, after a nice hot bath :-)

Recalcitrant Hairs

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

These plucky little fellas are making their way up trough the scab – I thought the branding process would have killed all the follicles, but some of them are still growing hair! I think the scab will be ready for a proper soak in the next couple of days as it’s starting to lift now.

Branding – Day 6

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

The first week is almost up! I always find the first week of any body mod’ the most challenging, a lot of this is down to adjusting to the requirement of the new mod’ and trying not to bash or otherwise aggrevate the wound. The leg is mostly OK although it does keep swelling up after I’ve been on my feet for a while, but it goes back down once I elevate it for an hour or so.

Today I’m going to wash the area and try not to soak it – that should be a challenge! Then just let it air-dry, although I am quite stoked with the prospect of the scab removal. (which is almost as satisfying as removing stitches :) )

Branding and Baths Dont Mix!

As if to prove that point – Here’s the prep’ I had to do before bathing:

Branding – Day Two

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Today my leg is a little stiff but I can move around pretty well – I’ve been resting the leg, but I do have trouble switching off. I think I’m a bit of a workaholic to be honest. Anyway the brand is nice and golden and tomorrow I’ll have to take a bath with my leg wrapped in cling film. If you’re wondering about my swimming habit (I go every day) the pool is going to be shut for two weeks, hence the timing of this particular body mod.

Leg Branding

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Here it is at last! I got this symbol branded in to my leg yesterday. It was an ‘interesting’ sensation, quite different from any of the others I’ve had. That said, it was manageable; with just some twitching of my leg muscles. Today I’ll be mostly taking it easy with my leg raised. This gives me some time to implement the new VAT rates for the shop – What fun!
