The Last Stitch

Has now been removed from my scalp, there is nothing quite picking the little buggers out - Mmmm satisfying. I also use Bio-oil on the incisions to reduce scarring.

Suffering for your art

Oh yeah baby! A swollen head and two black eyes - REEESULT! Libby keeps laughing at me too.

Heads up!

So I went and done and did it! Yup The implants are now fully installed beneath my skin - Did it hurt? Of freakin’-course!
Here you can see the markings of where they’ll be placed and we eventually want them to sit - I’m not going to post too many gory images here, as some folks don’t appreciate the gore factor - You can find all the images on my Flickr account. . .

Anyway that was yesterday and I was informed that I would have the mother of all headaches today, but so far I’ve been fine. My head feels funny but I’m not in any kind of pain. I even managed to get a reasonable night of sleep. Can’t really see much apart from a big swollen bonce :-).

There Will Be Blood. . .

. . .Oh yes, there will be and lots of it too! Yes, for today is implant day. Six of the buggers, three either side of my hairline - it’s been a long time coming and I don’t mind admitting I’m a little bit apprehensive.

Ever since I first saw 3D art implants I knew that I would be having them done myself. Over the last few years I’ve had six Teflon implants in my arm and one silicone circular barbell in my hand. Obviously I was leaving the best ’til last, well to tell the truth, we have been waiting almost a year for the implants themselves. This is not as bad as it seems as I have a busy life/work schedule, and when they did arrive we had to do some careful planning to fit the procedure in.

That day is today. I know that head procedures bleed like a bastard, but then its not me that has to deal with that side of things :-) - I do wonder if this is the modification that will push me over the edge (so to speak) as it’s probably the most extreme one that I’ve done.

Time will tell - I’ll keep you posted. . .

My Hand

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

I’ve been using bio oil on my hand since having my implant, three months ago. I’ve got to say I’m pleased with the results, the initial swelling was quite horrific and took a good few weeks to go down. Seems to be settling in quite nicely now.
The procedure, although quite intense, was over quickly.

I also had my engagement tattoo touched up on Monday because it had ‘kicked out’ really badly, as finger/hand tattoo are prone to do.
